In 1981 I traded my tobacco habit for a Pentax SLR and never looked back (my wife thought this was a pretty good deal, too). Not being an extravert, I had no 'people skills', so I chose landscape, nature, etc.; besides, access to the Blue Ridge Parkway was less than five miles of my home in the Bonsack, VA area. And lots of back roads in the national forests in the area.
